Increasing your revenue by 100% may seem like a monumental task.
But revenue can often be broken down into 4 components:
Revenue = (# of Leads * Conversion Rate) * Average Order Size * Frequency of Purchase
For example, if you have 100,000 leads and 10% of them spend $200 5 times per year, that equals $10 million of annual revenue
To double the revenue to get to $20 million of revenue, one option is to double one of those 4 components. That would be an aggressive goal.
Instead, you can just increase each of the 4 components by 20% each. That's because 1.2 * 1.2 * 1.2 * 1.2 = 2.07.
If we increase each component in the previous example by 20%, we now have 120,000 leads where 12% of them spend $240 6 times per year. That equals $20.7 million and you just doubled your business.

Obviously generating more leads will lead to more revenue, but it is more about quality rather than quantity. Not all leads are created the same. Identifying which target markets to focus on is very important so you can craft a unique marketing message that speaks directly to them.
If you can double your conversion rate, you can make twice as much money with the same number of leads. Conversion rates can be improved on websites, sales funnels, opt-in forms, trade show booths, sales calls, email campaigns and more.
Simply by getting customers to buy more at each checkout, you have increased your ROI because the cost to acquire that customer remains the same. That allows you to spend more on profitable advertising so you can grow faster
If you can get your existing customers to buy from you twice as often, you can potentially double your revenue. You also want to minimize one-time customers by having strategies for turning them into repeat buyers.
New profit centers are often a good idea, but you want to make sure they align with the long-term vision for the company and do not end up being a distraction causing a lack of focus.
